Ikea Alex Desk || My Dream Workspace

While my old desk setup was cute, it was as far from functional as possible. The shelf on the back of my desk cut my work space down significantly, while the tower of shelves failed to keep anything organized. I wasn't even using my desk, and all of my office supplies were just thrown around in the drawers.


I recently mentioned my trip to Kansas City and Ikea and I bought a desk there!

 I used two of the Alex drawers and the 47 x 23 inch Linnmon top. 







It's still a work in progress and I'm on the hunt for a cute and affordable gold desk lamp, but I already love it! There's SO much room and I can't wait to be able to spread all of my homework out on it. Okay not the actual homework part, but just the being able to spread things out to work on will be great. 

 I'll post an update when I finally get the top decor sorted out and figure out how to prevent the top from sliding around on the bottom drawers.

    Question how well does your chair fit with the two Alex draws ? Thinking about doing this for my daughter?

      I don't have a problem with the drawers specifically, but if you have the space I'd definitely opt for the larger 59 x 29 top. My chair fits between with the 47 x 23, but I'd prefer the larger for more room with turning my chair, etc. I picked this top because it fit in the space between my wall and door, so it really depends on your space! :)
