DIY Dollar Tree Mirrored Box

Sooo heyyy.

Dollar Tree sells these little square mirrors which are for candles and are also super cute for wedding decor, but I had something else in mind. I bought 6 of them.

Then using my trusty E6000
 I glued them together into a cute little box!

I think this is such a cute little jewelry box!

Bob's a fan!

Or hungry..it's hard to tell.


Super simple and a cute decoration for shelves that double as storage!

Simple & Classy Fall Decor on a Budget

So like just about everyone else, fall is my favorite season. And winter. Basically September through December is the best. Anywho, I wanted to share the simple touches I added to my room. I really tried to keep things blending in with my decor I already had.

This is the top of my dresser. Far left we have Juan, my plant who just celebrated his 1st birthday. I've never kept a plant alive this long so congratulations Juan. Next I picked up this cute little crate/tray from the Target dollar spot for $3 and put the two Dollar Tree bottles I already had in it. My alarm clock and my lamp are from Walmart. The Boo sign is also from the Target dollar spot and the gold pumpkin was a Dollar Tree find last year that I just gave a quick coat of gold spray paint.

This is the ladder shelf I have in the corner of my room. On top I have a paper mache letter "L" spray painted gold, and an Ikea plant and pot. 

Second shelf down houses the orange glitter pumpkin was snagged after season last year from Kmart for something like $0.96 :o and the silver is from the Target Dollar Spot. 

Next is a little apothecary jar I got from Goodwill filled with gold acorns also from the Dollar Spot. Beside that are two little elephants I spray painted silver and gold too. The "All you need is love and a cat" candle thing was a gift.

Next down I have my DIY coffee table books and a candle holder and candle.

On the bottom shelf I have a DIY mirrored box (DIY to come) and a cloche with some fake flowers sitting on a book.

So there are my simple touches for now. I may end up adding more but I like how it's turned out so far!

DIY Dollar Tree Chalkboard Jar

Today's post is almost too simple.

All I did was buy a jar and some chalkboard labels both from Dollar Tree.
That's it guys. I stuck a label on a jar and I'm calling it a craft :)

It's a super cute way to hold Bob's treats though!

From Candle Lid To Pretty Coaster

Hi! Today I'm sharing how I turned a candle lid into a pretty jeweled coaster! 

If you've ever been to Bath & Body Works you've probably been convinced to buy one of these delicious smelling bad boys.

Then you probably burned the whole thing in a day because it smelled so good. Anyone? Just me? Oh.

There are a million cute things to make with the jars when you're done though!

Today I used just the lid to make an adorable blingy coaster for my desk. 

All I needed was:

Any candle lid

E6000/Super Glue

Jewels/gems (affiliate links)

All I did was spread the glue with a tooth pick a little at a time and added the jewels in no certain pattern. 

(Cute envelope backdrop, right?)

That's it! I think this is so so pretty. I've been in the process of making my room fabulous (including the craft shelf I've been promising for 7 years) so I will be posting lots and lots about my progress organizing and decorating my bedroom!

DIY Simple Dollar Store Valentine's Decor

Love is in the air! 

I have started decorating my room this year for Valentine's Day with just a small package of "table scatter" from Dollar Tree. It had 60 of these pink and red glittery hearts.

I simply made a string of hearts for my window by sandwiching the small foam glitter hearts on a string of fishline.

I also did the same thing with some pieces of bakers twine in my doorway and on the dress hooks above my desk.

As most of my DIY's, it's super simple and I think it's super cute!

DIY Washi Storage + Pretty Craft Shelf Sneak Peek

Hello!

Today, I'm sharing the way I'm storing my Washi tape. I took the idea from Jen over at iHeartOrganizing.blogspot.com. You can see her storage here. 

I simply picked up a clear acrylic container and some tension rods from Bed Bath and Beyond and added a cutout from my Silhouette. 

And for curious & planning minds: here is where all the washi is from.

I love it!

As I mentioned in Wednesday's post. I've been getting my life together. Part of that process was deep cleaning and organizing my bedroom. I was originally storing all of my crafting supplies in a tub under my bed, but it simply was not working.
Over Christmas break I bought a cheap-y 5 shelf white bookcase at Walmart and have been using that to organize it all into a functional, yet pretty place for the things that make me so, so happy. This project is taking me 600 years though and I'll share it all once it's 100% complete, but for now here is a sneak peek!

DIY Customizable Notebooks for under $1

I'm alive!
I'd like to say that I've been traveling the world or something, but instead I've been spending time getting my life on track. I've had a hard time getting adjusted to college and have been working like crazy lately. It's a work in progress, but I'm finally figuring things out.
Anywhooooo
Today I started my second semester. (We have a January term) So this means I needed some pretty school supplies to stay organized.
I used this technique (I didn't actually come up with this technique, it's pretty popular in the planning world.) to make some pretty personalized notebooks.

I printed my monogram and class name on a sheet of cardstock. I also laminated it for added durability (and because I think I'm cool beans because I have a laminator, this one
 to be exact), but all of that is completely up to you. Once I cut it down to size, I tore a sheet out of the notebook, lined it up on the cover, and marked each hole. I tried to get it as close to the center as possible so they would all line up.

I then punched the holes using a tiny hole punch

.

Once they were all punched, I cut a tiny little slit running from the left side of the hole to the edge of the cover.

Finally I just snapped it on using the scissors to push the little tabs into place.

And that's all!

These are completely customizable, and they make the 20 cent notebooks from Walmart super cute. And you can switch them out if you decide you don't like a cover!

"Give Thanks" DIY Banner: Cute Thanksgiving Decoration

Today I have a cute banner just in time to decorate for Thanksgiving!

I picked up a roll of burlap, some stencils, and fabric paint but also used scissors a hot glue gun and a paint sponge.

I created a stencil of a triangle the size I wanted my banner to be and cut them for each letter, along with some for spacing.

I stenciled the letters onto the triangles,

then folded them over and glued them to some twine. 
I added it to my window to go with the leaf banner I made last month.
