DIY Push Pin Art | A "Bow-tiful" Piece

So if you haven't seen push pin art by now, have you been on Pinterest? 

My favorites are by LiveLoveDIY and life in velvet.

SO of course, I had to make my own! (Laws of Pinterest)

All you need is a canvas and push pins. My canvas is 8 x 10 and I got my gold push pins from Dollar Tree. I haven't seen them recently though, so if you don't have luck try these. (affiliate links)

I printed out a bow (you can really use any shape!) and cut it out. I made sure that the bow would fit in the space inside the wood frame, because my lack of strength is incapable of sticking lots of push pins into the wood.

I traced the bow, then added the gold push pins. I just did the outline and center knot of the bow. Partially out of laziness. Partially because I was running out of pins. AND partially because I really like it this way!

DIY Silver Hair Bow

I LOVE bows. I love them on anything, but hair bows are probably my favorite. Knowing how to make my own makes me a very, very happy person.

Here I go to make 4000 of them.

For this particular bow, I just used a small piece of thick ribbon. 

I folded in the ends so it would look finished and secured them with hot glue. 

Next I pinched the middle until I had the shape I wanted, and glued in between the creases to solidify the shape. 

Finally I glued the edges on a little baby strip and wrapped it around the center of my bow, and glued it onto a hair clip. 

I gave it a quick coat of hairspray and it actually helped with the shedding!
